2019 Game Day Chase 5k Run/Family Walk on September 14 - Proceeds Benefit the Kelly Cares Foundation


The Kelly Cares Foundation and Harper Cancer Research Institute Continue to partner and raise funds for cancer research.

WHAT: The seventh annual Game Day Chase 5K Run and Family Walk kicks off on Saturday, September 14 at Eddy Street Commons in South Bend, IN. Presented by Harper Cancer Research Institute, the race is designed to get runners ready to cheer on their team with themed miles, football flair, and a special end zone section at the finish line. Proceeds from the race benefit the Kelly Cares Foundation.

The Kelly Cares Foundation and Harper Cancer Research Institute Continue to partner and raise funds for cancer research.

South Bend, IN – September 12, 2019 – The Kelly Cares Foundation is announcing on-site registration for the 2019 Game Day Chase 5K Run/Family Walk on September 14, 2019. The race will allow football fans an opportunity to enjoy a fun, festive event in the morning before the home Notre Dame vs. New Mexico game that day. Proceeds from the Game Day Chase benefit the Kelly Cares Foundation, which allocates funding to organizations that align with its mission of strengthening communities and inspiring hope by investing resources into health and education. The mission is epitomized in the Harper Cancer Research Institute, the event's presenting sponsor and long-time partner. The Kelly Cares Foundation continues its partnership with the Harper Cancer Research Institute, and its commitment to provide grant funding in support of their ongoing cancer research initiatives.

The research conducted at Harper is key in investigating new, cutting-edge breast cancer detection methods which carry the potential to dramatically improve the most proven approach to decrease breast cancer mortality.

The Game Day Chase provides another opportunity for the Kelly Cares Foundation to bring the community and football fans together to help raise funds for cancer research, as well as other deserving initiatives - both locally and beyond. With over 1,000 race participants anticipated, runners will start and finish at Eddy Street Commons across from the Notre Dame campus.

The Kelly Cares Foundations' Game Day Chase 5k Run/Family Walk is open to members of the community of all fitness levels, encouraging everyone to come and participate in a healthy, fitness-oriented event that is anticipated to be fun for those of all ages. Friday, September 14:

·         11:00 -- 1:00 p.m. ; 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.– Packet pick-up and late registration (Harper Cancer Research Institute)

 

Saturday, September 15:

·         7:00-7:45 a.m. – Packet pick-up and late registration (Harper Cancer Research Institute)

·         8:00 a.m. – Start time for 5K Run (Eddy Street)

·         8:05 a.m. – Start time for 5K Walk

 

On-site registration will be available at packet pick-up both Friday and Saturday. Shirts are guaranteed to the first 800 registrants.
